Delta State Governor and the Vice Presidential Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party ,PDP
Senator Ifeanyi Okowa has advice Members of the Party to embark on house to house and ward to ward campaigns as a strategy to market the party’s policy documents to Nigerians.
Okowa gave the advice at the official inauguration of members of Delta State PDP Campaign Council in Asaba.Delta State .
Senator Okowa noted that the time has come for candidates to relocate to their wards and local Government areas, stressing that the best way to win the conscience of voters was through one on one campaigns.
The PDP Vice Presidential candidate said ,with the successful inauguration of the campaign council, the party would embark on campaigns to the 270 wards in the 25 local Government areas of the state.
According to Governor Okowa, the Atiku/Okowa presidential ticket of the PDP was to rescue Nigeria from the stronghold of poverty and underdevelopment, stressing that the PDP remained the only party that can restore the country to the path of growth and all round development.
Governorship candidate of the party and Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Chief Sheriff Oborevwori commended Governor Okowa for his political sagacity and leadership skills which he had deployed in managing the affairs of the party since 2015.
He said the massive achievements of Governor Okowa had made campaigns easier for the party in the state.
Hon. Oborevwori said his M.O.R.E Agenda: Meaningful Development, Opportunities for All, Realistic Reforms, and Enhanced Peace and Security was geared towards consolidating and extending the gains of the current administration.
Also Speaking , the State Chairman of the PDP, Olorogun Kingsley Esiso said the inauguration of the campaign council of the party marked formal commencement of the campaign that will take the PDP to Aso Rock, Abuja and retain the Government House, Asaba.
Chief Esiso pointed out that there was no doubt that the APC led Federal Government has failed Nigerians with its abysmal performance on all fronts since it came on board in 2015.
While inaugurating members of the campaign management committee and campaign council as well as other sub-committees at the state and local government levels, Chief Esiso charged them to go to their units and wards to ensure massive electoral victory for the party
Actual News learnt that two former Governors of Delta State , Chief James Ibori and Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan did not attend the inauguration ceremony .
It was also observed that the senator Representing Delta South Senatorial District , chief James Manager and 50 other PDP chieftains shun the Delta PDP inauguration campaign council .
