The Chartered Institute of Information and Strategy Management, CIISM, has appointed a Distinguished Fellow of the Institute, Dfcism, Dr Barr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, as the Institute’s representative for Southern Nigeria comprising South-South and South-East geopolitical zones.
The appointment contained in a letter dated April 13, 2023 with Reference Number: CIISM/23/1032, and signed by the Institute’s Board Secretary and Director of Membership Services, Dr Oyintoke Adelanke; FCISM, ACA, gave Oghenesivbe the responsibility of processing membership applications, recommend qualified would-be Distinguished Fellows, Fellows, Members and Associate members in South-South and South East Nigeria, to the Board for consideration, approval and induction into CIISM Professional Hall of Fame.
CIISM by this rare appointment, bestowed on Oghenesivbe, who is also a Board Member of the Institute, special rights and privileges. He’s expected to drive membership growth in Southern Nigeria, ensure that all categories of members pay their subscriptions and fees as at when due, play major roles in all activities; membership development training, workshops, seminars, conferences and special programmes of CIISM in the region, and render accounts to the Director of Membership Services and the Board.
Reacting to his appointment, Oghenesivbe, who is also the Executive Assistant on Strategic Communications to Delta State Governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, CON, accepted responsibilities that comes with his part time appointment which ultimately will not infringe on his official duties and responsibilities as government and politics.
He assured the Institute of his total commitment to assigned professional responsibilities as Southern Nigeria Representative of CIISM, and pledged to serve without blemish.
“I accept this rare offer from our great Institute with membership spread across corporate, multinational, private and public sectors in Nigeria and beyond.
“The several professional membership development training of the Institute has greatly sharpened my professional skills as a government spokesperson, and as a communication and Information Management strategist with strong passion for media politics, crisis communication and propaganda management.
“The task ahead is enermous, but I shall give my best to ensure membership growth in South-South and South-East geopolitical zones, so that other low cadre and professionals who are yet to benefit from the Institute’s advanced training programmes are adequately captured to benefit; guide applicants for the Liberal Billingual University of Togo/CIISM’s Master Degree and Professional Doctorate Degree Programmes in Information and Strategy Management, so as to enable them scale through academic hurdles and join the league of world class professionals,” Oghenesivbe assured .
Dr. Barr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, JP, holds a Professional Doctorate Degree in Information and Strategy Management, LBU Togo; Doctorate Degree in Strategic Communication, Berkeley; Master in Public and International Affairs, Unilag, Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science, ESUT; Law Degree (LL.B Hons) Unilag; Barrister-At-Law Postgraduate Certificate, Nigeria Law School/Council of Legal Education, Call to Bar Certificate by the Body of Benchers in Nigeria, Postgraduate Diploma in Mass Communication, Unilag; MSc Mass Communication, In-view Unilag; among other qualifications.
