In the spirit of the Easter Celebration, Members of Warri Rebirth Initiative on Monday gathered at its Secretariat in Ometan Warri,Warri south local government Area of Delta State to wine and dine .
Chairman of Warri Rebirth Initiative,Mr Kess Agbosa while thanking members of the group and Warri old boys and girls that attended the event reminded them of the group priorities which includes peace, unity, environmental sanitation, and infrastructural development.
He noted that the principal objective of Warri Rebirth Initiative, WRI, is to break down the huddles put up by ethnic sentiments ,so that they can live the same way they used to lived in the 50s and 60s in Warri where tribe was not a dividing factor but a unifying factor.
” Nobody cares whether you are Itsekiri, Ijaw, Urhobo, Igbo, Yoruba or whatever then. It was like one family. But when the ethnic problems came in the 80s and so on, we lost all of that, everything.” he said .
Mr Agbosa urged the people of Warri to continue to sustain the peace in the area in order to attract more development to Warri and it’s environs.
For his part the Public Relations officer ,Mr Patrick Origho said the group which is Non political was birthed in 2009 and their major objectives is unity amongst those living in Warri .
Mr Origho revealed that they have numbers of activities especially for the youths inorder to transform them to better persons in the society.
To ensure sustenance of peace in Warri and environs ,Mr Origho revealed that the group had interacted with the various traditional rulers in Warri which has yielded positive results .
The chairman of the occasion Professor Peter Eruotor while welcoming the Warri old boys and girls thanked them for always spreading the good message of peaceful coexistence among residents in Warri .

Prof Eruotor who is also a member of the group assured that Warri will get back it’s old glory.
The Easter get-together, featured a pep talk by Professor Temi Akporhonor with the topic Random Yapping .
Professor Akporhonor who expressed worried over some of the ills in the society to included Get rich quick syndrome by youths ,recent killing of soldiers at Okuama and reprisal , Professors not accorded the real recognition in the society, the notion that Education is a scam , the alarming rate of insecurity in the nation , herders-farmers clash, yahoo and yahoo plus amongst the youths , insincerity by some politicians and pastors,Japa syndrome amongst others.

While commending the Warri Rebirth Initiative for fostering peace and unity among the people of Warri , Professor Akporhonor challenged the executive of Warri Rebirth Initiative not to relent in it’s oars but ensure that the aims and objectives of the group is achieved.
The Easter get-together featured live band and other dude attractions to keep those present happy as there was so much to eat and drink.
