Warri market women protest against scarcity of Naira notes on Friday 3rd February , 2023 took a different dimension as they went on rampage and barricaded Warri – Sapele Road By a
Commercial Bank near Ogbe-Ijoh Market , Warri Delta State .
The aggrieved protesting women also pulled down canopies of the said bank that were meant for customers outside the bank premises.
One of the protesters who identified herself as laiye an Indigene of Odimodi , a fresh fish seller lamanted that she had suffered untold hardship due to Naira scarcity .
The fish seller who wore mask on her face complained that she had not make any sale since the scarcity of Naira .
Laiye therefore threatened that she was prepared to die rather than to continue to suffer the pains caused by scarcity of Naira Notes.
It was gathered that a distressed call to government security agents for protection by the management of the said bank met brick walls as the Government security agents were said to be equally not happy about the scarcity of Naira.
Meanwhile another commercial bank in the Warri Garage area, was alleged to have allowed only their staffs access to it’s ATM machine to withdrew cash while allegedly denied customers access to its ATM machine .
The frustrated customers were allegedly barricaded with iron bar of the bank out of its premises.
