The Chairman of Agbarha Warri Regency Council, High Chief Willie Atebefia Digbori (JP) has stated that Warri South Local Government Area deserved a university .
This was contained in his address during the condolence visit of management and staff of College of Education, ( COE ) Warri , Warri South Local Government Area on Tuesday 30th May , 2023 .
The Chairman of Agbarha Warri Regency Council who reasoned that education was the bedrock of any meaningful development, gladly noted that Governor Sheriff Francis Oborevwori in his inaugura address, promised to focus on the development of Warri.
He bitterly noted that all colleges of education in Delta State have been upgraded to Universities except College of Education (COE)Warri .
He therefore appealed to Governor Oborevwori to upgrade College of Education , Warri to a university.
” Having a university is one of the topmost priorities of the people of Warri South Local Government Area ” he added.
Digbori also charged the management of COE on its corporate and social responsibilities to Edjeba Agbarha Warri as its host community.
He however thanked and commended the management and staff of the college for the visit.
The Provost of College of Education ( COE) Dr Dickson Oyovwi who led a high power delegation of the college on the visit, had earlier in his speech, explained that they were at the Agbarha Warri Regency Council Hall Igbudu Community Warri to pay their condolence to chiefs and people of Agbarha Warri Kingdom on the transition of the traditional ruler of the host community of the institution, Edjeba Agbarha Warri .
Chief Oyovwi thanked members of the regency for the warm reception accorded them.
