The Chairman Peace Building and Conflict Resolution Committee Delta State , Chief Edwin Uzor has advised the Agbarha Warri people on a peaceful succession to the exalted throne of the ancient Urhobo Kingdom of Agbarha Warri.
Uzor who is an old chief of the Warri Urhobo Kingdom gave the advice during his condolence visit to the chiefs and people of Agbarha Warri Kingdom at Agbarha Warri Regency Hall Igbudu Community Warri last weekend.
The highly esteemed Oko Oshimili South Local Government Area born political icon who bears the exalted title of the Obruche R ‘ Isi ( Nonidigene Adviser ) of the ancient Urhobo Kingdom of Agbarha Warri Kingdom, Warri , advised that due process must be followed when selecting the candidate that will occupy the vacant exalted royal stool of Agbarha Warri Kingdom in order to avoid dispute that could be brought before him on the selection of the next king of Agbarha Warri Kingdom.
He stated that it will be displeasing for him if such an issue is brought before him as Chairman of the Committee on Peace Building and Conflict Resolution , Delta State .
” Agbarha Warri is a peaceful kingdom and as such the selection of our next king should be done in due process peacefully ” he added.
The one time Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP ) , Delta State had earlier remarked that the departed respected traditional ruler, HRM London Aforkerhi Itu JP Ememoh 11 was a detribalized , resourceful , humbly and God-fearing king.
Uzor was also full of praises for the Chairman Agbarha Warri Regency Council High Chief Willie Atebefia Digbori JP for successfully piloting the affairs of the kingdom so far in the absence of a monarch.
The Chairman of Agbarha Warri Regency Council High Chief Willie Atebefia Digbori JP , in his response affirmed that Chief Uzor was one of the oldest chief of the 28 years monarchy of the kingdom.
While listing some of the numerous contributions of the Anioma born philanthropist to the development of Agbarha Warri Kingdom, Chief Digbori stated that Chief Uzor was a good reason for confering chieftaincy titles on nonidigenes .
The Unuovwodo of Agbarha Warri community of Ogunu Chief ( Sir ) Syvelster Udi and the President General of Agbarha Warri Kingdom Chief Emmanuel Ememu JP who spoke to newsmen shortly after the event praised Chief Uzor for always identifying with the kingdom and for his advice.
A galaxy of Agbarha Warri chiefs were spotted at the event.
