Urhobos Back E K Clark On Efcc Probe On Okowa

The Urhobos of Warri, Warri South Locai,Government Area, of Delta State, under the auspices of Warri Urhobo National Congress has thrown their weight behind Chief Edwin Kiagbodo Clark on his call on the Economic and Financial Crime Commission EFCC asking him to use his office to ask former Governor of Delta State, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa to give account of the 1.7 trillion ,13 % Derivation fund from 2015 – 2023 ,meant for Oil Producing Communities in Delta State.

Just as the group accused the former Governor of been tribal by smuggling his Ika North East Local Government a non Oil Producing area into the Commission , with a view of using the money meant for Oil Producing Communities to develop his area.

In a follow up Letter to Chief E.K Clark Petition, addressed to and acknowledged by, the Chairman of EFCC dated ,June, 4 2023 Tittled,

WE SUPPORT CHIEF E.K.CLARKS CALL ON SEN.DR.IFEANYI ARTHUR OKOWA TO ACCOUNT FOR THE 13% DERIVATION FUND HE RECEIVED FROM THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT AS CONFIRM BY THE ACCOUNTANT – GENERAL OF FEDERATION FROM 2015- 2023.
Which was .singed by Chief Westham Adehor, JP President, Olorogun Victor Okumagba ,JP, Secretary, Hon.Mark Ikpuri,,Vice President and Chief Godday Onotor, Organizing Secretary, in which they copied President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, President of the Senate, Mallam Nuru Ribadu National Security Adviser,Inspector -,General,of Police, Chairman of ECOWA,,NBA President and International Police Organisation (Inter Pol ).made available to Journalists in Warri,Delta State.

They accused some ” Old Age Men ” Parading themselves as Youths from major tribes of Itsekiri,Isoko ,Ijaws ,Ndokwa and Urhobos ,” Okowa Stogies and cronies” who were allegedly sponsored by Okowa in order to divert attention or pervert justice but stressed ,he has failed., Adding, that he must face the EFCC to tell the World how he spent the 13 % Derivation Funds meant for Delta State.

According to the group ,the so- called Coalition of Delta State Youth allegedly sponsored by Okowa should stop disturbing Royal Father’s and ask themselves if their actions are in the interest of the so called ethnic Nationalities they claimed the are representing,.

While taking a swipe on them, the group said In Itsekirii land Omadino Trans Escravous Road since 2006 is yet to be completed and in Urhobo land as the most under developed.While Ijaw cannot boast of any project executed by DESOPADEC for the 8 years of Okowa administration .

The group justified their action based on the fact.that they are major stakeholders in DESOPADEC, Adding, that they have about 6 Oil Wells spread across the Urhobo areas of Oteghele and Ukpokiti which are hosts to Multi Nationals like SHELL,Chevron Heritage and Pan Ocean.in Warri South LGA.

The group asked rhetorically, as, thus ” The question we are asking is ,Did Okowa give to DESOPADEC what is due to it, according to Delta State Law establishing DESOPADEC as amended by Sen.Ifeanyi Okowa?

While accusing the former Governor of neglecting the Oil Producing Communities during the 8 years of his government,they asked him to come out and defend himself on how he spend the money.

They called on the EFCC Chairman to act urgently to avoid crisis since tension is already building up as a result of the unaccounted mind blowing amount of money most especially in the Oil producing Communities of Delta State.
