Honour was given to who honour was due as HRM Oghenekevwe Owin Kumane Eruvwedede III ( JP) the Ovie of Evwreni Kingdom in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State conferred the exalted chieftaincy of Akwuevugbe ( let’s unite ) of Evwreni Kingdom on a distinguished indigene of Evwreni Kingdom , Prince Clement Ukpebitere Kingdom last weekend.
In his brief remarks shortly before the conferment of the chieftaincy title, the traditional ruler stated that Prince Ukpebitere was conferred with the exalted chieftaincy title due to his immense contributions to the development of Evwreni Kingdom just as he remarked that the new Evwreni chief was humble , honest and good to people.
The historic event commenced with the administration of oath of allegiance to Prince Clement Ukpebitere by the Secretary of the palace of Evwreni Kingdom Dr Simon Eyagborigho .
Ukpebitere was escorted by relations and well wishers in a traditional dance on foot to his compound , a distance of about 2 kilometres immediately after he was conferred with the chieftaincy title.
He then played host to guests in a very colourful way.
The new Chief of Evwreni Kingdom told newsmen in a media interaction that he was grateful to God for the conferment of the chieftaincy title.
The Akwuevugbe of Evwreni Kingdom was also full of appreciation for the Ovie of Evwreni Kingdom for considering him worthy for the honour and to guests that graced the epoch making event.
Chief ( Prince ) Ukpebitere vowed that the honour will spur him to do more for Evwreni Kingdom and humanity.
A relation of the new chief of Evwreni Kingdom, Chief Sir Simon Asite ( JP), who also spoke to newsmen extolled the virtues of the Akwuevugbe of Evwreni Kingdom.
Asite noted that the chieftaincy title conferment called for celebration and that he was happy to be part of the celebration.
He also stated that it was a life time aspiration of Chief ( Prince) Ukpebitere to be honoured like his ( Ukpebitere ) father with such an exalted chieftaincy title.
Asite then prayed that Chief ( Prince ) Ukpebitere should live long in good health, peace and prosperity like his ( Ukpebitere ) late father with the chieftaincy title.
