The Warri Urhobo National Congress which is made up of Urhobos of Warri, Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State has asked political detractors and sponsors to stop the campaign of calumny against Honourable Stella Okotete a Ministerial nominee from Delta State, stressing that all ethnic nationalities in the State cannot be minister at the same time and therefore called on those sponsoring the ” Unnecessary blackmail and pull- one down syndrome ” to cease fire.
In a Press Release Tilted;
WARRI URHOBO NATIONAL CONGRESS WARN AGAINST CAMPAIGN OF CALUMNY AGAINST HON. STELLA OKOTETE signed by Chief Westham Adehor,( JP) President, Olorogun Victor Okumagba ( JP) National Secretary, ,Hon. Mark Ikpuri,National Vice President, and Chief Godday Onotor, National Organizing Secretary made available to news men in Warri,The group made reference to the circumstance surrounding the creation of Delta State and it’s after effect.
The group described Hon.Okotete as an an Accountant of high repute who discharged her duties with honesty and integrity.A patriot who has strong passion for development and unity of Nigeria,who operates on the principles justice and fairness,a vibrant personality who places high premium on hard work and passionate about whatever thing she is doing! ” We have no doubt that she would exceed the expectations of all Nigerians “Adding that her appointment would lead to RENEWED HOPE in Nigeria.
The group noted that it found it appalling,uninspiring and shameful
” That a few of our people are kicking against her nomination as Minister .If appointments are not made from our families and immediate locality ,does it mean that heaven must fall? This primitive and prehistory attitude must be discouraged” Adding that they are impressed with the achievements of Hon.Okotete in her various careers.Stressing that while others are protecting their shining stars,some wicked people are busying spreading falsehood and malicious publications to blackmail her.
The group said that they thought by now those protesting the Ministerial nomination of Hon Stella Okotete would have learnt some lesson from the saga of Chief Benard Okumagba who was appointed as the Managing Director of Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC, due to similar protest every body lost out including those who protested, none was later considered for the position.
While drawing illustration from America where both father and son was Presidents some times ago, they concluded by appealing to the All Progressive Congress APC Leaders,ethnic nationalities in Delta State to sheath their sword on the campaign of calumny against Hon.Okotete.
