St . Kevin’s College Old Students Association ( SKCOSA) donated Skill Acquisition and ICT Training Centre to its alma mater , Kokori Grammar School ( former St. Kevin’s College) Kokori in Ethiope East Local Government Area in its annual convention at the school premises on Saturday 30th November, 2024
The President of SKCOSA World wide Babor Patrick Egeregor who was ably representated by the Vice President of the great association Toju Arenyeka , a lawyer listed the achievements of his executive in the past one year include: registration of the association with the corporate affairs commission,
formation of a functional board of trustees, equipping the school library, refurbishing the school van , donating laptops and a printer to the school, scholarship awards to students, fostering community support, supporting welfare needs, audited financial reports, establishing the skills acquisition and ITC center, Life assurance scheme among others .
Egeregor also among other things disclosed the 2025 agenda of his executive to include: attracting and retaining teachers for the school, providing accommodation for teachers, enhancing teachers welfare among others.
The event featured cash award to deserving members of the association, principal, teachers and staff of the school.
High point of the event was the opening of the Skill Acquisition and ICT Training Centre by the immediate past National President of SKCOSA, Hon Ambassador Joseph O Edafeghwara ( JP)
The Organizing Secretary of SKCOSA Frank Eseoghene Ibi explained that the gesture was to collaborate with the school and that the students while learning their normal education will also acquire skills acquisition that will prepare them for the future.
On his part, the President General of Kokori Progress Union Col Wilson Ijide ( rtd ) who was ably representated by Mr Omoyibo Nicholas on behalf of Kokori Community appreciated and commended SKCOSA for the gesture as he urged other old students in schools in the community to borrow a leaf from SKCOSA.
While the Principal of the school, Rev Father Happy Amure remarked that the gesture was laudable and that the gesture will positively impact on the students.
Parents who spoke at the event thanked God for giving them the opportunity to bring their wards to the school which they described as the best school in the area.
