District Governor of Rotary International District 9141, Rtn Emeke Utebor said they have set a target of $100,000 for the Rotary Foundation 2023/2024 Rotary year .
Rtn Utebor who disclosed this in Effurun,Uvwie local Government area of Delta state during the foundation dinner organised by Rotary international District 9141 revealed “that this money would be used for any of the Rotary 7 Areas of Focus .
“the Rotary seven areas of focus are Promoting peace,Fighting disease,
Providing clean water, sanitation, and hygiene,Saving mothers and children,
Supporting education, Growing local economies and Protecting the environment”he revealed .
He added that the Rotary foundation would use the money to serve Humanity ” the money would be use to carry out humanitarian service all around the world. We have already achieved more than 50 percent of the $100, 000 target.
“Rotarians are still contributing to the foundation even after the dinner ” he said .
The District 9141 Governor stated that
the Dinner was put together to appreciate and recognize generous voluntary donors who have donated from $100 dollars and above .
Rtn Utebor further added that
Rotary Foundation helps Rotary members to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace by improving health, providing quality education, improving the environment, and alleviating poverty.
The donors were presented with Various Rotary crystal balls,pins and certificates .
“We use this occasion to appreciate and recognize those who made donations of $10,000 (major donors) foundation warriors donated minimum of $1,000, also those who donated $1,000 were also decorated with Paul harris fellow pin while the foundation Defenders donated a minimum of $100 .
Speaking during the foundation Dinner the HOC chair , PAG Judieth Enamotor and the Dinner sub committee chair PAG Chris Oyeke in their separate address , welcomed all Rotarians to the Foundation Dinner , saying the Rotary Foundation is supported by Voluntary contributions from Rotarians .
They added that through Rotary foundation , Rotarians carryout humanitarian services in the world.
Highpoint of the Dinner was presentation of awards and recognition of three Highest giving clubs, Highest giving individuals amongst others .
