Rotary Clubs of Bendel Estate, Edjeba and Osubi, Rotaract Club of Agbarho City and Ekpan in conjunction with Pinefon Empowerment initiative on Thursday empowered over fifty widows in Edjeba community, Warri south local Government Area of Delta State
The event which was was tagged Widows Empowerment Outreach was attended by Rotarians and Rotractors of various Clubs in District 9141
Items donated during the Widows Empowerment Outreach includes Fridge, Sewing machine, Cash,Flour Mixer and food items.
Founder of Pinefon Empowerment initiative Rotarian Mfon Otite Douglas, said that the gesture was part of its activities to mark the international women’s day.
Rotarian Mfon explained that the empowerment scheme was aimed at giving them the privilege to have an earning ability.
She however assures that the empowerment outreach which had been held in other states of the Nation will continues so as to put smiles on the faces of the indigent in the society.
President, Rotary Club of Edjeba,Rotarian Kenneth Okpeahior , President Rotary Club of Osubi Rotarian Gloria Omamogho and President Rotary Club of Bendel Estate,Rotarian Stella Maris Duru stressed that the aim of the empowerment is to impact more lives, especially now that the economy was dwindling.
The Rotary presidents said Rotary clubs is always ready to restore hope and lend helping hand to the less privileged through Rotary International Seven areas of focus.
Beneficiaries of the Widows Empowerment Outreach applauded the Rotary clubs and Rotaract Clubs as well as Pinefon Empowerment initiative for their service to humanity assuring that they will use the items to better their lives.
