Expectant mothers at Udu Garage health post in Udu local government area of Delta State.
The Presentation to the Expectant mothers was made by the president of the Rotary club of Ovwian, District 9141, Rotarian Efe Ogeh.
The health talk and presentation of delivery kits as well as hypo disinfectants by the Rotary Club of Ovwian to Expectant mothers came at no better time as it is a reflection of the Rotary international month of Mother and child health care.
The Programme was to raise awareness on the significance of personal and household hygiene practice and precaution to Avoid complications during and after child birth.
President of the Rotary club of Ovwian Rotarian Efe Ogeh advised the women to practice simple personal and household hygiene as the rotary club of Ovwian would continue to support Government effort in meeting the needs of the people.
He equally said that in all things cleanliness goes a long way in preventing diseases emphasizing that the rotary club of Ovwian would stand in the gap to advocate preventive approach that would ensure safety of mother and child.
The Assistant District Governor zone 15, Rotarian Wilson kokaraye noted that Rotary has remained focused in delivery its humanitarian and civil responsibility to humanity especially in the area of health for all as captured by the club.
He also urged the women to ensure giving their children vaccines to guide them against diseases.
Representative of hypo company Mr Efe Onokokai enlightened the pregnant women on proper use of the disinfectant and drummed home the need for them to disinfect at all times.
Speaking on behalf of the pregnant women, patron of the Udu Garage health post appreciated Rotary Club of Ovwian for the gesture noting that it would go a long way to ease their financial burden even as the health talk from experts would better position them in their day to day routine.
Highpoint of the health awareness ceremony was presentation of the delivery kits and hypo disinfectants to the women.
