Rotary Club of Ogunu District 9141 has held it’s family of Rotary celebration with pomp and pageantry as very eminent personalities were in attendance including Rotarians family and friends.
Our Correspondent,Reports that the event was a time of get together for families of the club.
In his opening speech the President Rotary club of Ogunu , Rotarian Sunny Popo noted that Rotarians are always thinking and planning to assist indigent people in the society inorder for them to have a sense of belonging among the fortunate people in the society.
He added that the Family of Rotary day is set aside to appreciate Rotarians family members for their understanding and support , stressing that most times because of the humanitarian work by Rotarians they sometimes forget the needs of their own family.
Rotarian Popo highlighted some of the projects so far carried out by the club in 2023/24 to include provision of reading glasses and free eyes check to the people of Ogunu and Ugbuwangue communities, evacuation of waste and reconstruction of Ogunu health center Suckaway pits , provisions of interest free loans to artisans amongst others .
A former President and foundation chair of Rotary club of Ogunu, Rotarian Ayodele Enikanselu also highlighted the importance of the family of Rotary event and commended Rotarians spouses and family for their continued understanding which has encouraged Rotarians to carryout their selfless service to the society.
One of the Assistant Governor’s in District 9141 , Rotarian Lawrence Nwadiogbu while delivering a Pep talk urged Rotarians to also support one another apart from the people in the society.
He added that one of the benefits of membership is to network among business men and women ,stressing that Rotarians should also share business idea and patronize each other .
Rotarians and their families led by the President of Rotary club of Ogunu, Rotarian Sunny Popo danced to the melodious music from the disc jokey of the day.
