As part of efforts geared towards Polio Eradication, the Rotary club of Ogunu has intensified the campaign against the disease during a sensitization walk through Ogunu and Ugbuwangue communities in Warri Warri south local Government Area of Delta state .

Marching through streets in Ogunu and Ugbuwangue communities by the Rotary club of Ogunu, district 9141 in the Early hours of Tuesday was an activity to commemorate World polio Day.
The Walk through the street signifies a strong stand by Rotary club to get the public aware that the fight against Poliomyelitis is not over yet.
Although the fight by Rotary international through its Districts and clubs all over the world is steady, Rotary club of Ogunu led by it’s president, Rotarian Newton Ayiwe embarked on the sensitization walk to sensitive mothers on the need to get their 0 to 5 years children immunized against polio disease
The Club in the course of the sensitization walk visited the health centers in Ubuwangue and that of Ogunu both in Warri South local government area to sensitive children and equally speak to mothers on the need to prevent the disease.
According to the club president, Rotarian Newton Ayiwe Rotary international has been in the forefront of stamping out the Polio scourge through concerted efforts as billions of dollars have been contributed into the Polio foundation as huge progress has been achieved.
Rotarian Newton Ayiwe maintained that the club is on course to protect the future of the children by getting the vaccine to them at no cost.
Rotarians Festus Ohanu,Daniel Oji ,Onome Eboe-Ogoro,Klem Douglas, Anthony Eleh, amongst others expressed satisfaction during the immunization of the children,saying the fight against polio is almost won.
The Vice Head teacher of Ogunu primary school and the matron of Ogunu health Care center appreciated the rotary club of Ogunu for the sensitization and immunization against polio.
The sensitization walk by the Rotary club of Ogunu no doubt is to reiterate the commitment in the fight against polio and the need to protect the future of infants within and outside their mandate area.
