Rotary club of Ekpan, District 9141, has harped on the need for all to take advantage of the diversity in culture to promote National unity.
The call was made by the President of Rotary Club of Ekpan ,Rotarian Osaro Igbinaduwa during the Urhobo and Isoko cultural Fellowship organized by the club in Effurun, Delta state.
Rotarian Osaro Igbinaduwa equally harped on the essence of the cultural Fellowship organized to build friendship and create a sense of belonging which would snow ball into National integration.
Rotarian Igbinaduwa also reinterated the need for parents to teach their children culture and language to preserve their cultural identity.
For his Part a past District Governor, Rotarian Ikponwonsa Ogiemudia in his speech identified among Rotary areas of focus, building friendship across all frontiers to achieve world peace.
In similar vein, Chairman Urhobo and Isoko cultural Fellowship, Rotarian Ogheneruese Ogaga emphasized the significance of preserving and handing down culture of the people to the next generation adding that as a club it remains resolute to promote the Nigerian cultural diversity with the aim to build peaceful coexistence.
Other Rotarians affirmed the place of culture, knowledge of its history in Nation building
The extra ordinary cultural Fellowship featured cash gifts presentation to widows of fallen gallant men of the Nigerian army.
Representative of the commander of the Nigerian Army , three battalion Effurun Barack appreciated Rotary club of Ekpan for the gesture on behalf of the widows
The special Fellowship was part of efforts by Rotary Club of Ekpan
to celebrate the Rich cultural heritage and diversity in Delta state as it accommodates different ethnic tribes.
It was an opportunity for the club to equally advocate for unity through diversity as it was the theme for the cultural Fellowship.
Guests present were thrilled with beautiful Urhobo and Isoko music
