Rotary Club of Edjeba District 9141 has inaugurated a 3.5 KVA solar inverter, renovated and equipped 20 units computer laboratory at Edjeba College, Warri in Warri South Local Government of Delta State.
Inaugurating the projects, the District Governor, Rotarian Mightyman Dikuro commended Rotary Club of Edjeba for utilising the grant from District 9141 to improve the education standard of Edjeba college Warri.
DG Mightyman Dikuro said that Rotary Club will continue to support the development of education, especially in the area of Information Communication Technology, ICT.
The District Governor who was represented by one of the Assistant District Governors (ADG), Kehinde Oisemaye noted that with the inverter connected to the computers, the students will be taught how to use computers without public power supply.
The President, Rotary Club of Edjeba, Rotarian Nicholas Otoboh who was flanked by the incoming President, Rotarian Sunny Oveisi, Assist Governor Designate, ADG, Lawrence Nwadiebu and other Rotarians of Rotary Club of Edjeba told the Principal of the College that the club decided to donate the computers and 3.5 kva Solar inverter system to improve the students knowledge of computer as most examinations are now written by the use of computer.
Rotarian Otoboh thanked the District for the provision of the grant which assisted Rotary Club of Edjeba in the execution of the projects.
The Chief Inspector of Education Warri South Local Government, Mrs Henrietta Obiegba represented by Mrs Oghale Onokohwomo commended Rotary Club of Edjeba for the gesture and urged the people of Edjeba community to protect the 3.5 KVA solar inverter, renovated and equipped 20 units computer laboratory
Also speaking, the Principal of Edjeba College Edjeba, Warri, Mrs Mayuku Abeji expressed happiness over the gesture and pledged that the staff and students would take proper care of the facility.
The Edjeba Youth President, Mr Oscar Tugele, the chairman Parents Teachers Association of Edjeba College, Mr Jonah Ohiomoba and a student of the college, David Rejoice also commended Rotary Club of Edjeba for the gesture.
