An Anglican priest, Reverend Daniel Imini, has noted that “as christians, we must be selfless in our relationship with others, saying selflessness portrays the fundamental characteristics of a good shepherd.”
Imini who stated this at the thanksgiving service that rounded off the one week mothers union programe, held in St Stephens Anglican church Jakpa road, in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State, explained that shepherd are meant to be caretakers who nurture and manage flocks.
“Every individual is a shepard, as we are faced with the responsibility to manage, serve, or attend to one situation or the other, at one point or the other in our life. Our ability to attain success, in line with the task given to us, are qualities that defines us to be good or bad shepard” he stated.
He called on mothers to intensify their shepard skill over their household, adding that ” as a mother, you must look beyond yourself and sacrifice your sleep for your children in the area of prayers, knowing that the days are evil”.
Speaking further, Reverend Imini charged christians to be dedicated in treating others right, noting that “you must give your best, with a high level of commitment, to ensure that people placed under your care, prosper and are well treated, as God is more attracted in blessing selfless people that seek the good of others than the selfish ones “
Members of mother’s Union later danced to the altar to give thanks to God for a successful week long activities .
