Governor of Delta State, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori’s popularity has soared tremendously due to his excellent performance within one year in office, and counting.
Chief Executive Officer of Delta State Orientation and Communications Bureau, Dr Latimore Oghenesivbe, made the disclosure on Monday, at the presentation of Award of Excellence to him by the Association of Urhobo Sons and Daughters in Federal Civil Service of the Federation Abuja, assuring that more mega infrastructure and socioeconomic development projects be executed by Oborevwori administration.
He noted that Governor Oborevwori came prepared, and immediately hit the ground running with the award of a staggering N78Billion contract to construction giant, Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, for the construction of three mega flyovers and pedestrian bridges at DSC Roundabout, PTI junction, Effurun Roundabout and Enerhen junction up to Marine Gate.
The Bureau Chief said the construction of the flyovers, underground water tunnels in Delta North, Delta Central and Delta South Senatorial Districts, as well as other ongoing road rehabilitation and construction projects in various communities by local contractors, and Obakpor Engineering Ltd, has endeared the governor to the hearts of Deltans.

“The landslide victory of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the just concluded Local Government Council Elections in the state attests to the fact that the governor has done extremely well. The MORE Agenda is working for all Deltans, the governor is fully charged, andin a hurryy to do more.
“All the chairmanship and Councillorship candidates aligned with the MORE Agenda of governor Oborevwori, which gave rise to their victories at the polls. They have been sworn in to execute the MORE Agenda in their local governments across the 25 local government areas. It’s awesome and heartwarming.
“Our governor is detribalised, and shall always be governor for all Deltans, but as a consummate leader and illustrious son of Urhobo nation, and being a super beneficiary of the Delta Central slot of rotation of power within PDP family in the state, he has tremendous respect and deep connection with the Urhobo ethnic nationality, just the same way he enjoys remarkable support of all ethnic nationalities in the state,” Oghenesivbe said
Dr Oghenesivbe, accepted the Award of Excellence, and thanked the Association of Urhobo Sons and Daughters in Federal Civil Service of the Federation Abuja, AUSDA, for finding him worthy for this rare honour coming from a credible association of Urhobo ethnic nationality based in Abuja, and in Diaspora.
