The Provost of the College of Education (COE), Warri, Dr. Dickson Onovwakpoma Oyovwi (JP), and the college staff have been commended for their outstanding success in the Delta State University (DELSU) degree affiliate program at the college.
The commendation was made by the Vice Chancellor of DELSU, Professor Samuel Ogheneovo Asagba, during the 19th Matriculation ceremony of the Degree program of COE, Warri, in affiliation with Delta State University, held on Friday, March 28, 2025.
Represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Professor Edmond Atakpo, Professor Asagba expressed confidence in the partnership between DELSU and COE, Warri, stating, “I am quite confident that no hiccups, whether academic or administrative, would be experienced in the academic union between DELSU and COE, Warri.”
He appreciated the efforts of the Provost and staff of COE, Warri, towards the success of the program, which provides an opportunity for people in Warri and its environs to pursue Bachelor’s degree programs of Delta State University, at COE, Warri.

Deputy Vice Chancellor,
A total of 356 candidates were offered provisional admission into DELSU’s 2024/2025 program. Professor Asagba assured the matriculants that they would be eligible to participate in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program upon completion of their studies.

The Provost of COE, Warri, Dr. Oyovwi, in his keynote address, assured the matriculants of a conducive learning environment and warned against vices such as cultism, examination malpractice, and fighting.
Some of the fresh students expressed gratitude to God for realizing their ambition of becoming university undergraduates and promised to abide by the rules and regulations of DELSU, Abraka, and COE, Warri, to complete their degree programs successfully.
