The executive chairman of Uvwie Local Government Council, Honorable Ramson Tega Onoyake, has emphasised the relevance of an equipped healthcare center, clean and peaceful environment as bases for a prosperous and healthy society.
The Chairman of Uvwie council stated this on Monday , September 25, 2023, at the official commissioning of the Idjakpa primary healthcare center in Jakpa juction of Effurun, in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.
Onoyake explained that “this healthcare center and other projects that will be unveil today, were part of a desire to touch lives and bring the dividend of democracy to the grassroot,” noting that “society can only thrive better when the three pillars that is most relevant to a civil society, is in place.” These pillers according to him, include; “a thriving health care base, a clean environment, as well as a peaceful society.”
While commending the eventful 100 days in Office of the executive governor of Delta State, his excellency, Hon. Sheriff’s Oborevwori, who he said “hit the ground running,” Onoyake expressed joy over the award of construction contracts, awarded to Julius Berger, amongst which two flyovers have been proposed to be built in Uvwie.
“Your score card is ticking fast and the lips of the people in Effurun are already singing your praises, especially people living around Uti road, who one of the flyover roads, proposed to be constructed in Uvwie, will make life easier and safer” he said.
Speaking further, the Uvwie council boss added that “your people friendly projects, targeted at bringing relief to Deltans have not only won the hearts of many, but have also re-assured Deltans that their vote for you, his excellency, was not in vain.”
High point of the event, was the commissioning of the health care center, named in honour of the ovie of Uvwie, Emmanuel Sideso healthcare center, which was commissioned by the Ovie, in company of other dignitaries.
Other exciting part of the occassion was the presentation of a Sienna car, by the council boss, to the DPO of Ekpan police station, as measures to promote peace in the locality, and an eighteen seater bus, given to the Ema cultural dancing troop of Uvwie.
