The Task Force on Traffic Control in Uvwie local government has been banned by the chairman of the Council, Honourable Ramson Onoyake.
The ban follows series of complaints by vehicle owners and tricycle operators in the locality .
Chairman of Uvwie local government,Hon Onoyake stripped the traffic control task force members of their duties with immediate effect.
The Traffic personnel putting on green shirts on black pair of trousers had been a turn in the flesh of motorists and tricycle operators despite warnings by chairman of Uvwie local government Honourable Ramson Onoyake.
Speaking to members of the banned traffic personnel at the Council Secretariat Effurun, Honourable Ramson Onoyake recalled how he told them that they will be dissolved the same way if they run foul of the law.
Honourable Ramson Onoyake asked the chairman of the Task Force,Chief Lucky Orode and the dissolved members of the task force not to go near their office and ordered them to pull off their uniforms noting that they have abused the trust reposed on them.
The Uvwie Council chairman also asked the Environment task headed by two chairmen not to allow members of the banned traffic task force get near them but perform their duties of cleaning the environment.
Vice chairman of Uvwie local government Honourable Henry Biyibi,Leader of Uvwie Legislative Arm Honourable Gabriel Obodo, Councillors and some council staff were present when the hammer fell on the Task Force personnel
