Senior Special Assistant to Governor Oborevwori on community development, Dr Patrick Ighomrore in collaboration with the Rotary club of Effurun City Center on Wednesday donated food items worth hundred of thousands of Naira to the people of Okuama at the Delta State Okuama internally Displaced persons camp in Ewu, Ughelli South Local government area of Delta State.
Dr Ighomrore noted that the gesture is to identify with the Okuama community and gave an assurance that the people will soon be integrated back to their community.
Presenting the food items to the victims of the March 14 Okuama crisis the senior special assistant to the Delta state Governor on community development, Patrick Ighomrore flanked by members of the Rotary Club of Effurun City Center led by the President, Rotarian Darlington Odogun said the relief materials was to alleviate the sufferings of the people while the state government worked on modalities of getting them back to normal life.
The SSA on Community Development who is also the chartered President of the Rotary club of Effurun city center commended the state governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for his timely intervention in setting up the IDP camp.
The President of Rotary Club of Effurun City Center Rotarian Darlington Odogun said the gesture is am intervention by the club in collaboration with the senior Special Assistant to Delta state Governor Patrick Ighomrore to put smiles on the faces of the inmates of the camp in line with Rotary International area of focus .
The President of the club also said Rotary will continue to assist persons displaced during crisis and called for the sustenance of peace in Okuama and Ewu kingdom in general.
The camp commandant while appreciated Mr Patrick Ighomrore and Rotary club of Effurun city centre for the gesture, said the items would go a long way to meet pressing needs in the camp.
One of the women in the camp equally pleaded for one of the leaders of Okuama community know as Prof Arthur Ekpekpo declared wanted for questioning to be released.
