The People of the Ancient Agbarha Warri Community of Ogunu in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State have elected a new Nine-Man Executive Committee to steer the affairs of the community.
Respondents who spoke to newsmen adjudged the elections as the best in the community so far.
Those elected were Hope Esharegharan, Chairman, Enis Omasanuwa, Vice-Chairman, Richard Ayiwe,Secretary and Nsima Umanna, Assistant Secretary.
Others were John Ejakpomewhe ,Financial Secretary, Matilda Elohor Oke, Treasurer , Wisdom Ololo ,Provost , Johnbul Egwono ,PRO and Stanley Owhere Oghwuvwie .
The Chairman of the electoral committee, Chief Joachim Osevwerha, who spoke to newsmen shortly after the elections, commended Ogunu people for coming out enmass for the elections and for their peaceful conduct during and after the exercise.
He also extended his appreciation to the various security agencies and observers that were present during the elections.
A very respected personality in Ogunu, Chief Sunny Popo, who also spoke, saying that the elections were free , fair and credible and lauded the electoral committee for a job well done.
Chief Popo also commended the Chairman of Warri South Local Government, Dr. Michael Tidi, for the peace meeting he convened among stakeholders on the eve of the election.
The newly elected members of Ogunu executive committee will serve for two years and would be inaugurated on Sunday, December 4, 2022.
