…..Calls for Increased Synergy for Sustainable Grassroot Development.
The Executive Chairman of Uvwie Local Government, Chief Anthony Onoriode Ofoni has charged councillors in the various local government areas of Delta State to continue to work in synergy with their local government chairmen in order to fast track development to their areas .
Chief Ofoni gave the charge when he played host to the executive and some members of Delta State Councillors Forum led by their coordinator and leader of the Warri South West Local Government legislative Arm, Rt. Hon. Ekpemupolo Idukedoumene Samuel at his office in Effurun,Uvwie local government area.
The Uvwie Council boss, while thanking the state coordinator of the forum , Executive and members for the visit, advised them to enact laws that will improve the lives of the people in their local government areas.
He further asked the councillors to support their local government chairmen to enable them deliver on the dividends of Democracy to the grassroots in accordance with the M.O.R.E agenda of the Delta State Governor,Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori.
Chief Ofoni also used the medium to congratulate the Executive and members of the forum for emerging victorious in their various new positions, particularly to the leader of the Uvwie Legislative Arm, Rt. Hon. Rire Uruesheyi, who emerged as the Delta Central Senatorial District’s Coordinator of the forum.
Earlier Rt. Hon. Ekpemupolo and his team led by the Forum’s coordinator for Delta Central Senatorial District, Rt. Hon. Rire Uruesheyi stated that they decided to visit Chief Ofoni inorder for him to identify with them as the new executive of the forum especially as he is the chairman of one of the most central and advancing Local Government councils in the state.
He described the uvwie local government chairmen as a critical stakeholder in grassroot development.
