The Chairman of Delta State Traffic Management Agency ( DESTMA), Chief Peter ldion, has charged motorists in Delta , to be circumspect in their application of road traffic rules.
The DESTMA Chairman, reminded road users , that , their actions and inactions, if not properly coordinated along safe driving rules and regulations , may escalate fatality on the roads.
Speaking with newsmen , exclusively , Chief Idion, who holds the traditional title of Adolor-Dein of Agbor kingdom, disclosed concerted efforts of the Governor Sheriff Oborevwori administration , to ensure seamless and safe traffic management regime in Delta , with state of the art surveillance infrastructure , to ensure that road traffic management sanity is brought to bear in the mindsets of Deltans.
The DESTMA Chairman said prevention of road traffic challenges , us at the core of his Agency , but sued for cooperation among the stakeholders in the traffic management sector , in order to ensure corporate best practices.
Chief ldion disclosed his Agency,s proactiveness in dealing with road traffic challenges , admonishing motorists as well as road users , to avail themselves of all the road signs for their safety.
Said the DESTMA Chairman :” Since we came on board three months ago, we have made far reaching measures to sanitize the traffic management attitude of road users, in line with our mandate. Luckily, we have gotten the support of his Excellency the Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori , to make our not only safe , but traffic compliant.
We will soon witness a clear adherence to traffic management rules via best global standards , where Closed Circuit Television ( CCTV) Cameras, will be placed along strategic locations in the state , to detect traffic offences and make our road traffic regime world class. We thank the Governor for his magnanimity”.
According to the DESTMA Chairman, the challenge of non compliance with traffic regulations by road users , will soon be a thing of the past , as continuous advocacy to enlighten road users on the need to obey traffic laws ,is continuous.
Chief Peter ldion was full of commendations for the officers and men of the Agency , who have continued to display a high sense of professionalism and integrity , in the discharge of their duties , highlighting the firm resolve of the agency to continue to live above board , in the discharge of it’s assigned mandate , of ensuring sanity , on the roads.
