There was relative calm and peace in Warri South and Uvwie Local Government Areas during National Labour Congress NLC nation wide protest.
All the bank’s monitored by our correspondent in both local government areas were closed for business .

There was mixed reactions from residents that spoke to our correspondent on the nation wide protest .
The Chairman of Counseling Association of Nigeria ( CASSON ) Delta State Chapter, Dr ( Mrs ) Edna Abbide declared her full support for NLC ‘ a action.
She posited that President Ahmed Tinubu was taking Nigerians for a ride .
She noted that President Tinubu has often failed to consult stakeholders before taken decisions .
However former Chairman of Delta State Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines & Agriculture, Chief Simon Asite ( JP ) lambasted the leadership of NLC for reacting to the sudden removal of oil subsidy belatedly.
He noted that NLC was insensitive to the plights of Nigerian workers, stating further that the sudden removal of oil subsidy after two months had already taken negative effects on the Nigerian masses.
” I have lost confidence in NLC ; NLC waited till the economic has taken a bad shape before embarking on a protest. They would have protested immediately after the sudden removal of the oil subsidy.
NLC has disappointed Nigerians ” he added
He had stated that the policies of Federal Government called For questioning.
Similarly, a Warri based sports wears and equipment merchant, Nze Francis Onuora bitterly noted that NLC was playing to the gallery and that Nothing good will come of the protest.
Nze Francis Onuora who was a former Senior Special Assistant( SSA) to former Governor Okowa on Community Development also reasoned that nothing good has ever came of such protest .
Onuora who is fondly called Francon also posited that President Tinubu caused hardship to the Nigerian masses only two months in office.
On his part, the Chairman of Lower Erejuwa Motor Spare Parts Traders Associations, Comdrade Emeka Odili however was in support of NLC ‘ s nation wide protest as he noted that the protest was long over due.
