The Proprietor of the famous Trust International Schools, Warri , Hon Mike Oritseweyimi Eboh has asserted that inter house sports competition is an avenue for talent hunt.
Eboh who is the Chairman of Association Of Private School Owners Of Nigeria ( APSON) Warri South Local Government Area Chapter , made the assertion in his welcome address during the maiden inter house sports competition of the school last weekend.
Eboh who listed the numerous gains of sports in human endeavors, reasoned that the true value of sport lies in its participation.
He also enjoined participants to embrace the spirit of sportsmanship in whatever position they find themselves in the course of the event.
Eboh however urged pupils and students of the various houses in the school, to cheer up their representatives in the inter house sports competition in order to encourage them to put in their best.
In his opening remarks, the chairman of the event Ambassador John Aghara congratulated the management and staff of Trust International Schools Warri for putting up the event.
” From what I have seen so far, it is an indication that there was adequate preparation for this inter house sports competition.” he remarked
Two former students of the school, Mrs Gift Okeoghene Oyovwi and Mr Divine Agoghene Ologide who spoke to our correspondent in a media chat during the event, gave the Proprietor of the school, Hon Mike Oritseweyimi Eboh, other management staff and teachers of the popular school, a pat on the back for hosting the event in a very wonderful way.
High point of the event was the presentation of trophies to winners.
Green House, School House, Blue House, Red House and Yellow House came 1st , 2nd, 3rd , 4th and 5th respectively.
The Patron of Blue House, Dr Dickson Onovwakpoma Oyovwi JP who is the provost of College of Education Warri was ably represented by his wife , Mrs Gift Okeoghene Oyovwi ( nee Ologide) at the colourful event.
The Proprietor of Kefe Academy, Revend Canon Emperor Essi, a highly respected Agbarha Warri indigene, Chief Peter Ovie Okpeh were among eminent personalities spotted at the event.
