Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori has been declared winner of the 2023 Governorship election in Delta State .
The Returning Officer for the Gubernatorial election in Delta state, Prof Georgewill Owunari, who is also the Vice Chancellor of the University of Port Harcourt made the declaration at the collation center in Asaba , Headquarters of Delta State .
The Governor-elect, Sheriff Oborevwori polled a total of 360,234 of the valid votes cast to defeat Senator Ovie Omo-Agege of the All Progressives Congress, APC, who garnered 240,229 votes.
710,829 voters were accredited for the election, while the valid votes cast was 671,737
