Hard times of some residents of Warri caused by flooding continued as the affected residents resort to usage of water pumping machines in sucking away water from their residence to no avail.
Some of the affected areas were Umukoko , Odjugo among other streets in the Apala area of Okumagba Layout at the time of filing this report.
Major areas of Umukoko Street was submerged with flood as most houses and stores in the area were flooded with water , compelling some of the residents to the usage of water pumping machines in sucking away the unwanted water .
Some of them were seen putting rain boots even in their apartments.
Samuel Kigho a victim, bitterly narrated that the more he used the pumping machine the more water emitted from his cemented floor of his apartment .
An aged woman , Madam Rebecca Edjobeguo who complained of a similar experience , bitterly narrated that her and children slept at the corridor of their since the ravaging flood .
She complained further that most of her perishable properties were kept at their corridor at as the time of filing this report.
Ma Rebecca Edjobeguo who spoke in Urhobo language like others appealed to relevant authorities to come to their aides .
However the President General of Okere Urhobo Kingdom, Rev Canon David Otofia who spoke to our correspondent identified non linkage of gutters and drainages in Okumagba layout to the ongoing massive drainage construction as the cause of the problem.
He therefore appealed to Governor Sheriff Francis Oborevwori to prevail on the contractors handling the projects to expedite action on the project.
