Flood has destroyed a portion of the Ughelli- Asaba Highway before Ossissa Bridge from the Ughelli axis.
Some youths were seen carrying fresh leaves directing motorists on the safe part of the flooded road.
The portions of the road at Ellu and after Kwale were also submerged by the flood where some youtths had taken the advantage of the unfortunate situation by fishing along the road.
The offensive smell of rots emanating from the flood in the Kwale area was quite disturbing as commuters complained bitterly about it.
One of them , the Vice Chairman of Counseling Association of Nigeria (CASSON) , Delta State Chapter, Comrade ( Mrs ) Rose Obi, who was on her way to Asaba, attributed one of the causes of flooding to blocked natural waterways.
“Human activities have caused a lot of damage to nature.
“Government at all levels should clear the waterways, ” she added.
