It is also sad to note that besides the traffic challenge caused by the flood , some residents were seen bailing out water from their apartments.
There were different reasons given for the cause of the perennial flooding by those who spoke to our correspondent.
One of them, the owner of the prestigious Casa Depedro Hotels Refinery Road Effurun Chief Peter Asagba attributed it to inadequate drainage system .
The highly esteemed Okpe chief also stated that the existing drainages needed urgent channeling .
A Warri based motor spare parts dealer , Chidi Ojiofor attributed the cause to the blocked canals as he noted that all the canals in both local government areas were over filled with over grown weeds and refuses.
He noted that the canals have not be cleared for over three years.
While another respondent, Kingsley Akpoyibo attributed the cause to the poor sanitatary habits of residents who he acused of emptying their refuses in gutters during rainfall.
