Sixty three persons including women and Youths were presented with various starter packs after the completion of various skills acquisition training programme held at Otor-Owhe, Isoko North Local Government area of Delta State.
General Manager Government , Joint Venture and External Relations Heritage Energy Operational services limited , Mr Adesola Adebawo disclosed that 1,247 youths have so far benefitted from their training and empowerment programme
Mr Adebawo disclosed that the sixty-three (63) women and youths were trained in Fashion Design, Computer Operations (ICT), Hair Dressing, Hair Barbing, Make-Up Artistry, Welding, among others.
He added that the Beneficiaries were selected from Host Communities within the cluster including, Otor-Owhe, Edhomoko, Emevor, Akiewhe, Erawha and lyede communities in Isoko North Local Government Area, Delta State.
Mr Adesola Adebawo who was represented by the community and government relations manager Heritage Energy Operational services limited , Mr Edisiri Akpomudjere advised the Beneficiaries to judiciously utilise the started packs so as to add value to themselves and boost the economy of their community.
The General manager while acknowledging the support of relevant partners and the various regulatory oil and gas agencies noted that it will continue to explore positive engagements and programmes which would foster cordial relationship between it and host communities.
He further restated their commitment to the Petroleum industry acts in the transition to the host community development trust fund with a close working relationship with key host stakeholders.
He appealed to the host communities to sustain their peaceful nature in order to improve on the mutual benefit it is enjoying.
Other partners of the Oml 30 including NNPCL Exploration and Production limited, Shoreline Natural Resources limited as well as the Nigeria Upstream Petroleum Regulatory commission lauded Heritage Energy Operational Services for the capacity building and empowerment initiative even as it has sustain commitment to the GMOU and PIA of the federal government.
They charged the Beneficiaries to encourage the programme of the operators of the OML 30 by utilise the starter packs for the creation of wealth and improving their living standard.
The Chairman of OML 30 cluster 8, Mr Wilfred Atunu while congratulating the Beneficiaries thanked Heritage Energy operational services and it’s joint venture partners for the gesture .
Mr Atunu told the Beneficiaries that they should count themselves lucky and charged them not to sell the starter packs presented to them but to make good use of it to better their lots .
Mr Atunu an engineer advised the Beneficiaries to invest money gotten from their Bussiness,stressing that One reason why small scale business do not survive for long is lack of financial management skills.
He also appeal to Heritage Energy operational services and it’s joint venture to employ their qualified youths .
The excited beneficiaries appreciated OML 30 joint venture for finding them worthy, promising that the starter packs would go a long way in transforming their lives especially the skills they have learnt.
Highpoint was the formal handing over of the items to the beneficiaries as well as certificates for successful completion of the training programme.
