Tanker Explosion kills Eight in Warri

It was black Friday at Omenta Okpe by Warri-Sapele road n Okpe local Government area of Delta State as at least eight people were killed by a tanker explosion.
The incident was reportedly to have occured about 10am on Friday left buildings including residential building makeshift caravans and vehicles as well as heavy duty trucks destroyed.
Right at the scenes of the unfortunate incident amongst victims were a three months old child and her mother who died while trying to rescue her child.
Another victim of the inferno was a secondary boy who just returned from school only to meet his untimely end.
According to eye witnesses, the tanker coming from Effurun lost control while trying to overtake another truck few meters away From the boundary bridge between Uvwie and Okpe local Government area.
The victims guted by the infernos were burnt beyond recognition, leaving several others injured and hospitalized.
As at the time of filling this report, the Director General of the Warri, Uvwie and environs development agency Wueda, Prince Enjinyere was at the scene to assess the level of damage caused by the explosion and equally mobolize support to evacuate the bucket of the fuel laden truck off the road to avoid further damage.
