Alaka Primary Health Centre, Effurun Uvwie Local Government Area has embarked on a door to door enlightenment campaign on immunization .
The Head Nurse of the health centre, Mrs Philomena Moriah made the disclosure during a meeting between officials of the health centre and the Unuevworo of Uvwie Kingdom High Chief Hope Akasa JP in Alaka on Monday 19th June , 2023 .
She also disclosed that vaccines against measles , taboolouses , polio among others were available free of charge for children under the ages of 0 to 5 years .
The Head of Nurse at the health centre further proudly disclosed that the Alaka Primary Health Centre Effurun also provided free medical services for pregnant women and also offered free treatment for malaria fever for residents.

Moriah however complained about poor patronage of the health centre by residents , particularly by pregnant women and nursing mothers. ” That is why we decided to embarked on a door to door enlightenment campaign in the area ” she added.
While complaining of the poor reception given to them by residents on the exercise, she appealed for assistance from the highly esteemed Uvwie high chief in the enlightenment campaign exercise.
Moriah also complained about insecurity of the health centre at night.
In response, High Chief Akasa who is the highest tradititioal chief in Uvwie Kingdom promised to assist the health officials in the enlightenment campaign exercise.
He however stated that payment for the salaries of security guards for the health centre should be bored equally between himself and government.
Akasa also promised that based on availability of resources he will hold an enlightenment workshop for stakeholders and also established a police post close to the health centre in the near future.
