The Executive Assistant to the Delta state Governor on Oil and Gas Chief Akpovire Edafevwotu has commended Delta state Governor,Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori for approving the immediate payment of the new minimum wage to workers in the state
Chief Edafevwotu made the commendation while Speaking with Newsmen at the weekend in Warri Delta State
He described Governor Sheriff Oborevwori as a promise keeper,adding that last month the Governor promised to Pay workers the new minimum wage any time the National Income Salaries and Wages Commission sends the chart.
Chief Akpovire Edafevwotu stated that the Governor who is labour friendly had also assured the Committee of the new minimum wage with leadership of the Organized Labour in Delta State, comprising the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Trade Union Congress (TUC), and the Joint Negotiating Council (JNC) that he would implement the new minimum wage.
He also thanked the state Governor for prompt payment of the monthly salaries of Delta State workers and urged the State Government workers to continue to be diligent in their duties
Chief Akpovire Edafevwotu urged all Deltans to Support the state Governor inorder for him to continue to attract more development to the state .
It will be recalled that Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, had approved the payment of the new minimum wage to workers in the state with effect from October.
