Students of the famous Essi College 1 and 11 Warri were engaged in academic competitions by ex -students of the college under the aegis of Essi College Students Association (ECOSA)
The event that took place at the school premises in Essi Layout Warri on Thursday 27 the March , 2025 was sponsored by a member of the Board of Trustees of ECOSA, Triple Chief Fidelis Agbiki and class of 1968 of the college.

Some eminent members of Essi College Students Association ( ECOSA ) spotted at the epoch making event at as the time of filing this report were : the President of ECOSA Worldwide, Chief Sylvester Bighoro, the Chairman of ECOSA Warri branch, Chief Bernard Kpesu, the immediate past Chairman of Warri branch of ECOSA , Dr (Mrs) Edna Abebetu Abbaide ( who is the moderator of the event), Chairman of Lagos branch of the association, Ben Edafiadjebre , the National Public Relations Officer ( PRO) of ECOSA Worldwide , Edwin Masodje , Elder Samuel Ugbejevun , Mrs Ruth Ekpekurede among others.
In his brief address to the students , the Chairman of the Warri branch of ECOSA, Chief Bernard Kpesu noted that the event is rare and unique and that it is aimed at encouraging academic excellence in Essi College, one of the oldest secondary schools in Warri nay Delta State.
The occasion was chaired by the sponsor, Triple Chief Fidelis Agbiki who was representated by High Chief Victor Otomewo former Worldwide President of ECOSA and former Attorney General and Commissioner For Justice, Delta State .
In his remarks , the World wide President of ECOSA, Chief Sylvester Bighoro appreciated and commended the star sponsor of the event Triple Chief Fidelis Agbiki, principals and staff of Essi College Students for preparing the students for the competitions .
The topic for debate is ‘ Is Social Media A Positive Or Negative Impact On Secondary Students ? ‘
Giant trophies and other mouth watering prizes were billed to be given to winners of the competitions.
Students of both schools recited Nigeria ‘ s national anthem and they also recited the school ‘ s anthem in french language.
Impressed by the performance of the students in rendering the school national anthem in french language, the President of ECOSA Worldwide Chief Sylvester Bighoro made a presentation of the sum of twenty thousand naira to the students.
High point of the event was the award of cash and prizes to deserving students and staff
