African music and folklore literature have been identified as sustainable tools for social re-engineering, Education and the social conscience for leadership.
A senior Lecturer from the Department of Theatre Arts and music, College of Education , Warri Dr. Dick- Duvwarovwo Ereforo stated this during an Inaugural Lecture titled “Indigenous Music and Societal Development in the 21st Century in Nigeria: the synergy”

The inaugural lecture by the senior lecturer of the College of Education warri, Dr. Dick- Duvwarovwo Ereforo titled “Indigenous Music and Societal Development in 21st Century Nigeria: the Synergy” raises the conversation on the significance of african Music and Oral literature to the development process of society and the imminent negative impact western Culture has had on the african custom and tradition.
Speaking at the event the Inaugural lecturer, Dr. Ereforo identified the Africa music as possessing the social force capable of preserving culture, inculcating morals, as it reflect the africa identity.
The Scholar established a strong foundation of traditional performance linking it effect on Africa Education and , Leadership.
She commended schools that have already set up system that encourage african Music.
Dr. Ereforo recommended a deliberate effort by every ethnic groups in Nigeria to sustain their language by making it Official at their homes.
On his part the Provost of the college of Education ,warri , Dr. Dickson Oyovwi commended the speaker for the paper well researched as it bring to fore the place of Africa art in music and language to development.
Dr Oyovwi noted that the inaugural lecture displays the richness of the institution in terms of manpower and innovations from the college.
Highpoint was an award presentation to the inaugural lecturer by the deputy Provost for her paper presentation and contribution to the body of knowledge.
