HRM Emmanuel Ekemejewa Sideso JP OON Abe 1 has told the Igbos not to build Ohanaeze House or event Centre near his palace in GRA Effurun Uvwie Local Government Area.
The highly esteemed traditional ruler stated this during the visit of the leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Delta Central and South to his posh palace GRA Effurun Uvwie Local Government Area on Thursday 4th May , 2023.
He explained that his reason was due to security reasons , noting that building of an Ohaneaze House or Event Centre in the area could be used for tradititioal matters or events.
He further noted that no palace elsewhere in the country has haboured such a cultural or event centre of another ethnic group.
The Uvwie monarch also stated that it was erroneous for any individual to state that he was opposed to the building of an Ohanaeze House or Event Centre near his palace in GRA Effurun Uvwie Local Government Area because he hated the Igbos .
He disclosed that his first child is married to an Igbo woman from Abia State and that Igbos have a representative in his palace security committee.
The Uvwie monarch again disclosed that Igbos were beneficiaries of his scholarship scheme.
He however advised that Igbos to develop Nnewi House located in the Kingdom if they were disarious to have an Ohanaeze House or Event Centre in Effurun Uvwie Local Government Area .
The Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom siezed the opportunity to warned that tradititioal rulers can live in Uvwie Kingdom but are not allowed to perform any tradititioal rite in the area.
He had urged non indigenes to assist in the development of the area.
The President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Delta Central and South Senatorial Districts Chief Clement Chiedu Idama had among other things disclosed that their visit was to seek permission for the building of an Ohaneze House or Event Centre in GRA Effurun near the palace of the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom.
After the explanation and advice of Abe 1, he promised to abide to the advice of the Uvwie monarch , as he on behalf of Igbos pledged his unalloyed support and loyalty to the traditional ruler.
