The state Chief Judge, Hon. Justice T. Diai on Saturday at the faculty of Law, Delta state university, Oleh commended His Honour, Miakpo Emiaso for authoring two legal books.
Discribing the books as ‘immense’ contribution to the reportoiure of knowledge, the Chief Judge, represented by Justice C.A. Emifoniye, Judge of the, Oleh High Court noted that the author who is a retired customary court judge has taken a bold step in contributing to the development of the legal profession by authoring the two books with the title: How to Recover Properties of Dead Relations” and ‘Perceived Corrupt Memoirs of a Nigerian Judge’.
In their separate remarks, the reviewer of the books, Justice A.O. Akpovi of the High Court Warri and Prof. Kingsley Edu the Guest lecturer commended His Honour Miakpo Emiaso for his efforts. Accordingly to Justice Akpovi, the work ”is a product of critical thinking and detailed research.
He added that it took the author ten years to bring out the book How to recover properties of Dead Relations” shows the resilience and commitment of the author”
After making their personal observations on areas of possible improvement in future editions, both of them recommended the two books to all and sundry irrespective of their profession.
The two books were formally unvailed by the representative of the state Chief Judge, Justice Emifoniye with support from other personalities.
Dignitaries that graced the well attended ceremony include, the provost of the Oleh campus of DELSU, Prof. Elo Ibagere and his Law faculty Dean, Prof. Beauty Alo, the state Attorney General, represented by Mrs Ighoroje , the President of the Delta state Customary court of Appeal, represented by his Honour Gbakeji and Bishop and Mrs Eric Emiaso, elder brother of the author. .
Others include His Honour Emuobouvie, ACP. Dr. Okpako Omudhowo, Chief P. G. Okoro, representative of Uzere Community, Isoko branch, NBA branch chairmen and members from across the state among others.
