Delta State Commissioner of Police, Mr Wale Abbas says the protracted crisis between Aladja Community in Udu Local Government Area and Ogbe-Ijoh Community in Warri South West Local Government Area would soon be resolved.
The State Commissioner of Police disclosed this during his visit to the Burutu Area Command at Udu.
It would be recalled that For 27 years, Aladja Community and Ogbe-Ijoh Community have been on each other’s throats over a disputed land.
Few weeks ago the hostility was resumed with deaths recorded and many persons sustaining gun shots injuries.
CP Wale Abbas said that the recent clashes between the two neighbouring Communities of Aladja and Ogbe-Ijoh were worrisome to Delta State Government and Security agencies .
CP Abbas disclosed that Delta State Government has firmed up plans to finally settle the lingering war in few days from now.
He urged the people of Aladja and Ogbe-Ijoh to cooperate with the State Government in order to close the ugly episode and restore peace to the areas .
On criminality in the State, the Commissioner of the Police said that the State Command is combat ready to rid the State of crime and make it a safe haven for businesses to thrive.
CP Abbas however harped on the need to strengthen the bond of friendship between the Police and Deltans urging the public to furnish the Police with intelligent information.
The Chairman of Udu Local Government, Chief Jite Brown thanked the Commissioner of Police for his efforts in improving peace and security in the State.
Other stakeholders who spoke at the visit appealed for more police stations in Burutu command for effective policing inorder to maintain peace and security in the area.
They also pledged to work with the Police to make the area safe for all.
The visit of the Delta State Commissioner of Police, Mr Wale Abbas to the Burutu Area Command was witnessed by stakeholders from Udu, Patani, Bomadi, Warri South West and Burutu Council Areas including the Vice Chairman of Udu Council, Mrs Eloho Awinoroh.
