Nigerians have reacted to a viral video posted on Wednesday morning revealing how Senate President, Godswill Akpabio was heard saying the National Assembly Clerk has disbursed funds to all senators to enable them to enjoy their holiday.
Senator Akpabio was knocked by Nigerians over the statement on social media .
“In order to enable all of us to enjoy our holidays, a token has been sent to our various accounts by the clerk of the national assembly.”
Not long after Akpabio made this statement and after deliberating with some of his colleagues, Akpabio withdrew his statement, saying instead ‘prayers have been sent to mailboxes of respective senators.
“I withdraw that statement. To allow you to enjoy your holiday, the Senate President has sent prayers to your mailboxes to assist you to go on a safe journey and return.”
Nigerians on social media have since begun to knock Senator Akpabio and the leadership of the country.

Taymee also tweeted: “No worries, we deserve all the despair and suffering until we get sense by force ..the electorate is more than the elected yet the elected eat better than the electorate… Nigeria is unreal!.
