President of Rotary Club of Ogunu Rotarian Newton Ayiwe on Monday led some members of the club to pay a courtesy Visit on the chairman Warri south local Government, comrade Weyinmi Agbateyiniro to intimate him on the club’s proposed Beautification of Ogunu Bridge with Pyramid frustum that carries the Rotary Wheel.
Rotarian Ayiwe who was accompanied by the Secretary of the club, Rotarian Daniel Oji and the Project chairperson ,Rotarian Onome Eboe-Ogoro appealed to the chairman to approve the proposed beautification project
The president of Rotary Club of Ogunu added that the proposed beautification project is inline with one of Rotary’s international seven areas of focus which is environment was aimed at enhancing the aesthetic appeal and environmental sustainability of Warri city,Specifically at the Ogunu flyover.
Other areas of benefit of the project include Promoting Rotary eco-friendly practices to the community and passers by ,Creating directive to the road users and Supporting local economic growth
Rotarian Ayiwe earlier commended the chairman of Warri south local Government for the projects his administration has initiated in the last 65 days , saying that the projects are people oriented and when completed Warri and other communities in warri south will have a facelift.
Responding chairman Warri south local Government Comrade Weyinmi Agbateyiniro, Commended Rotary Club of Ogunu for coming up with the idea to beautify a part of Ogunu road .
While noting that the council is ready to partner with non- Governmental organizations,corporate bodies and individuals to develop Warri south, comrade Weyinmi Agbateyiniro disclosed that the council has mapped out plans to beautify Warri and plant trees by the roadside of NPA expressway.
He further disclosed that the council has flagged off the ‘Operation Zero Tolerance to Potholes and proper marking of roads in Warri South Local Government Area.
While approving the request by Rotary Club to beautify a part of Ogunu Flyover road ,comrade Agbateyiniro said the council engineers will work with Rotary club of Ogunu to execute the project .
The courtesy visit by Rotary club of Ogunu was attended by the Supervisor for health Hon Ese Deduwa amongst others.
