The Agbarha Warri kingdom in Warri south local government area of Delta state on Saturday installed High Chief Jonathan Ayiwe as the eldest man of the kingdom.
The installation of high chief Jonathan Ayiwe was held at Edion Hall, Otovwodo community .
Our correspondent report that the conferment of High Chief Jonathan Ayiwe as the eldest man (Okpako) of the community attracted dignitaries from all walks of life including the member representing Warri South constituency II in the Delta State house of Assembly , Hon Ben Obire,member Representing Warri South I Hon Austin Oruoye, representative of the Agbarha Otor, Okere-Urhobo kingdom Amongst others.
In his remarks chairman of the Agbarha Warri regency council,High chief Willie Digbori noted that it was a great thing of joy to witness the installation of high chief Jonathan Ayiwe, a milestone in the history of the kingdom given the role of the office of the okpako of Agbarha Warri kingdom.
He added that high chief Jonathan Ayiwe is a man of proven intergity which he said would benefit the kingdom.
He wished the nonagenarian God’s protection and long life.
For his part the member representing Warri South constituency II In the Delta State House of assembly Hon Ben Obire, representative of Agbarha Otor kingdom, as well as the children of the newly installed Okpako of Agbarha Warri kingdom,including Mr Glory Ayiwe, Rotarian Newton Ayiwe amongst others extended their heart felt congratulatory message saying his ascension mean a new dawn of positive development for kingdom.
They added that the office of the eldest man is not contested for rather a choice by God that they believe would only bring good fortunes.
The carnival like reception held to entertain guests was held at Shell Ogunu as Various dance group thrilled guests .
Representatives from the various communities in the Kingdom presented gift items to the eldest man ,High Chief Ayiwe
