Honour was given to who honour was due as Ekpan, Uvwie Local Government Area born political icon, Honourable Bright Onajefe – Gift Edejewhro was honoured with the exalted chieftaincy title of Orhue ( hunter ) of Uvwie Kingdom by HRM Dr Emmanuel Ekemejewa Sideso JP OON Abe 1 , the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom on Saturday 17th February, 2024.
The esteemed tradititioal ruler in his brief speech shortly before the conferment of the chiefaincy title, affirmed that the title was an honour in recognition of Chief Edejewhro ‘ s immense contributions to the development of the area and that he did not apply for the chieftaincy title.
The Uvwie monarch stated that it was the first time that he gave such an honour to individuals since he ascended the throne since 16 years ago.
He urged Uvwie indigenes to emulate the new Uvwie chief so that one day , they will be so honoured.
Abe 1 also urged the Orhue of Uvwie Kingdom to continue to do more for Uvwie Kingdom .
Edejewhro in a brief media chat with newsmen shortly after the event, appreciated the Uvwie monarch for honouring him with the exalted chieftaincy title as he vowed that the honour will spur him to do more for humanity.
Edejewhro was a former councillor, local government council chairman in local government council , commissioner in Delta State and business tycoon.
He is happily married with children.
