The Vice – Chancellor of Delta State University of Science and Technology, Professor Oboreh Jacob Snapps, has assured the State government and Deltans that the University, with his leadership, is poised to find solutions to the problems of humanity through modern research.
Professor Oboreh stated this yesterday 14th September 2023, at the University campus in Ozoro,, Isoko North local Government Area of Delta State, during the commissioning of landmark projects by the Delta State Governor, Rt. Honorable Sheriff Oborevwori.
Oboreh who used the opportunity to congratulate the governor of his giant strides in his first one hundred days in office, stated that “the University has identified the Governor’s “MORE” Agenda as a holistic roadmap for the advancement of Delta State.”
While assuring the Governor of his commitment to take the institution to greater heights, Oboreh made an appealed for the provision of funds and procurement of technological equipments that will galvanize the University into the global rating of Universities.
His appeal include the procurement of equipments, such as engineering equipments that has never been purchased since the establishment of the university in 2021, and replacement of equipments that were damaged by the impact of the 2022 flood.
The V.C also made an appeal for the provision of funds that will enable the accreditation of departments by the National Universities Commission, provision of constant electricity power supply that will leapfrog technological drive in the institution, and others.
Highlight of the occasion was the commissioning of projects which include; the New Administrative building, a two kilometers road and the Vice Chancellors’ Lodge. Also, the University Guest House, Staff School Building, as well as Principal Officers’ Living Quarters.
