One person has been confirmed dead over clash between anti-cult team and some cultists on Wednesday at Eku community, Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State
According to a report by NewsNet Nigeria the mayhem was triggered by the killing of a yet-to-be-identified young man at the early hours of the day.
Different sources revealed that a shop belonging to a former anti-cult member was set ablaze , several property destroyed leading to the streets in the community deserted for several hours.
Actualnewsng. com gathered that the man that was allegedly murdered by the anti cult team was innocent and harmless which got the youths in Eku angry and staged a protest .
Chairman Ethiope East local government , Hon Victor Ofobrukueta in a swift response to the incident asked the Divisional Police officer ,DPO in Eku to deploy Policemen to the troubled area to restore peace and order .
In a telephone chat with Actual News Correspondent , the Ethiope East council chairman who is the chief security officer of the local government confirmed that one person was killed during the clash between the anti cult group and suspected cultists .
He however said the police are on top of the matter and assured Eku people that justice will be done to the issue that led to the clash .
